Calling for Auction Items
A Class Challenge
We are asking each class to organize a basket for the silent auction

To support the fundraising success of the

Third Annual
Celebrating Our Connections
Benefit
Gala

November 2, 2007 at the Fisher Pavilion, Seattle

The AgForestry Education Foundation is holding its third Annual "Celebrating Our Connections Gala" on November 2, 2007. The spectacular event will be held in Seattle at the Fisher Pavilion located at the Seattle Center. Festivities, including a silent auction, start at 5:30 p.m.

Our goal is to raise $100,000 in support of scholarships for AgForestry participants. One of the hallmarks of the AgForestry Leadership Program is the generous scholarship provided to each participant. Our investors believe that by providing the scholarships to each participant, the investment will pay great dividends when graduates go on to serve in leadership positions benefiting our natural resource sectors and communities.

A Fellowship in the Leadership Program is valued at $15,000 and each participant pays $3000. If you work with us to raise $100,000 at our annual fundraiser, we can provide scholarships for eight participants.

How Can You Help?

We are asking each class to organize a basket for the silent auction. We ask that each basket reflect the products and experiences of your International Seminar. For instance, Class 28 visited and learned much about Mexico and Panama. Think about what a great basket could be put together by Class 28 representing the products and memories of their trip! Now think about what a fabulous basket your class could put together!

There are some easy ways to organize this effort. One way is for two people to be in charge of the basket itself. Ask others in your class for ideas for items to go into the basket. Figure out who will do the actual purchasing / procurement and what the price of the basket should be ($50-$200 in value is a good ballpark). Ask each member in the class to contribute a small amount for the basket items, like $10.00 to $25.00 dollars. Put together the basket and make arrangements for delivery and/or pick up by November 1st ...
And presto!

Your Class has put together a basket reflecting a great AgForestry experience and will entice donors to support scholarships for AgForestry while receiving a great basket full of unique and interesting products.
