Class 30 Travels to Washington, DC

Ellen set a fast and full pace, and by the end of the week Class 30 participants all felt comfortable navigating the city on their own. Highlights of the week included lunching in the Executive Dining Room at the USDA, touring the Library of Congress, and having a special private briefing at the Pentagon. We also had a great visit with most of our congressional delegation and got a great tour of the Capitol Building. All in all, it was a balanced week with input from commodity groups, environmental concerns, the Farm Bureau and both sides of the aisle. On the cultural side, we visited the Holocaust Museum, and we laughed at the Capitol Steps comedy troupe.
